A Summer Wedding at Villa Woodbine

A Private, Historical Miami Wedding Venue

I recently got the privilege to photograph Mercy and Jovan’s wedding at Villa Woodbine. It was a hot, summer August day, but that didn’t stop us from taking beautiful photos at this gorgeous Italian style wedding venue hidden within the busy city of Miami.

Villa Woodbine has so much to offer, from the stone fountain on the terrace, to massive European style windows, to beautiful archways, European-patterned tiles on the stairs, and even the overgrown ivy-climbing up the walls!

Before the Ceremony

Getting ready with the bride and her ladies was full of laughs, champagne, and anticipation! All of the bridesmaids wore black dresses, and because they were free to choose their preferred style, their lovely personalities shone through.

Mercy’s handmade headpiece and veil were truly one of a kind; the veil flowed so gracefully- pearls sparkling in the summer light as it trailed behind her. But the sparkles of her family's smiles when they saw her were unforgettable; so bright at the stunning soon-to-be bride! Her father's reaction during the father and daughter first-look shoot on the stairs of Villa Woodbine was precious; you could almost see his happiness radiating!

Jovan and his groomsmen had a blast getting ready too; the room was buzzing with energy, jokes, and big grins. Their friendship was delightful to watch as they all helped each other suit up. The group looked dapper against the sophisticated backdrop of Villa Woodbine’s white and gold accents.

The Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the marquee at Villa Woodbine, which was decorated elegantly with chandeliers along the aisle leading to a stunning floral archway of white roses and all sorts of richly green leaves. All of the guests got a fantastic view of the couple in the large room, and capturing their reactions was very special. Genuine laughter and so many happy tears; it was beautiful to see the love from everyone on Mercy and Jovan's wedding day. 

The Reception

Family and friends gathered in the marquee for celebrations as it transformed into a place for wining, dining, and dancing! As the sun set and the night rolled in above the reception, guests came in and out of the marquee, chatting and dancing the night away with the happy couple. Being a part of their wedding day was so much fun and filled with pure love. A background as beautiful as Villa Woodbine to host such a special day was just the icing on the cake!
